P90 Nutrition Plan

One of the things that I love about the new P90 nutrition plan is its simplicity. With that simplicity comes some complications that might not help you get the results that you are looking for. But before I get into what me, myself, and I think you should do to get the best results with P90…I will go ahead and cover exactly what the P90 nutrition guide lays out for a plan of attack when it comes to stuffing your face šŸ™‚

 

P90 Nutrition Plan Explained

Step #1 – Calculate your Maintenance Calories. This is how many calories you will need on a daily basis in order to maintain your current weight. So lets setup a real world scenario:

Thomas is a design engineer for Lego and Thomas has ballooned up to 300lbs since his girlfriend that he ordered from Russia left him for a Calvin Klein underwear model 6 moĀ a new Lego Ninjago design when the new P90 infomercial comes on. BOOM – He orders it on the spot! He gets it in the mail and dives into the nutrition guide for clarity on a few things. Since Thomas is working at a desk all day with Legos and day dreaming about the day his Svetlana will walk back into his life; he would choose the “Sedentary” lifestyle option. So Thomas takes his current body weight of 300lbs and multiplies that by 11 to get 3300 calories per day to maintain his current weight. Makes sense?

Step #2 – Create a caloric deficit. The P90 nutrition guide suggests taking the number that you calculated from above and subtracting 500 calories “or so” from it. It then states that (If that number is below 1200, stay at 1200). Eating less than that for a prolonged period of time just isnt healthy. If you watch my video below, I cover calorie intake info and what has worked BEST for my team mebers (both male and female) when it comes to the least amount of calories you can eatĀ to get the best results possible.

So now that Thomas is equipped with his calorie intake goal for each day, all he needs to do is pick three meals each day from the “Simple Kitchen” meal list provided in the P90 nutrition guideĀ that’ll get him to his calorie intake goal for the day, and eat a few extra snacks from the snack list (also provided in the P90 nutrition guide). He can also choose his snacks from the top two tiers of Michi’s Ladder 2.0 to make up the difference.

Ā P90 Nutrition Guide – For REAL People!

Like I say in the video below, there is an issue that the P90 nutrition guide doesnt really address, and that is the case in which someone has a lot of weight to lose. A 500 calorie deficit simply isnt enough in most cases to see significant changes in your body composition. Here is an example:

John weights 300lbs and has a sedentary job as a CPA. He takes his body weight and multiplies it by 11 to get his maintenance calorie intake of 3300 calories per day. After subtracting the recommended 500 calories to lose weight, he is left with a 2800 calorie per day intake which is NOT going to allow John to see significant weight loss.

What I did was drop all the way down to 1700 per day during my original P90X transformation. I stuck with that intake for a week to see how much energy I had. I noticed that I didnt have enough energy to really do my workouts with intensity and still have energy the rest of the day for normal activity. Then I tried 1800 and eventually settled on 1900 per day. I actually developed My 1900 Calorie Diet which a ton of our team members have followed with incredible success. Conclusions On The P90 Meal Plan

The P90 nutrition plan is simple…a little TOO simple in my opinion. Coming from experience over the last 3 years of planning and tracking my own nutrition, as well as seeing thousands of our team members have the same kind of success following the same methods that I did – I would say that this meal plan can still work, but (in my opinion) you might not see as much progress as you would following the methods that I prescribe here.
