Myfitnesspal-P90X Nutrition Plan

Myfitnesspal is one of the foundational tools that I use to have success with the P90X nutrition plan. Without tracking your nutrition, you simply wont get any type of extreme results. Sure you can lose some weight, maybe even tone up a bit, but dont get discouraged when you dont have a six pack after 90 days of wingin it on your nutrition.

2 Tips For Using Myfitnesspal And The P90X Nutrition Plan

1) Do it the day before! – If you sit down for 5-10 minutes each night, you can plan your meals for the next day and play around with serving sizes so that you meet your macro-nutrients dead on every single time.

I see so many people logging their nutrition and acting surprised to find that they went over on their carbs by 75 grams. Well, if you had entered what you were going to eat the night before, you would have known exactly how much you needed AND you would have been much more likely to stick to the plan.

2) Leave some room – You might not have this situation, but I dont know what my wife is cooking for dinner every night so I have to plan out all my nutrition, except for dinner.

I know that we usually have some sort of lean protein, fresh veggies, and a complex carbohydrate. So what I do is calculate everything out so that by dinner I have about 50g of protein, around 30 carbs, and around 10g of fat.

This leaves me plenty of room to adjust the serving sizes of my dinner items to meet my macro-nutrient targets, rather than worry about what types of food I will have to eat.

You CAN hit your nutrition goal every single day!

Its not rocket science gang. Start practicing these two steps and you are going to notice how much easier it is to have success with your nutrition. You already know that 80% of your results come from diet, so why wouldnt you do everything you can to ensure your success.

I even created this video so to show you EXACTLY how I use myfitnesspal online to plan and track my nutrition based on My 1900 Calorie Diet.

Hey coach just wondering, how close should I get to my carb/protein/fat. My fat gets about to about what I should have in a day or a Lil over but alot of the times I'll have about 20-30 grams of carbs. Is that OK or should I eat some more fruit or something to get more grams of carbs

I am on week 4 and I'm having trouble with the right foods and intake. I get the recommended calories and still feel hungry. I also tried the nutrition plan that comes with the work out, but its hard to buy so much food. I'm not sure how to balance it all.

Hey Todd, When putting your information into my fitness pal did you put in your cardio exercise in there as well to show how many calories burned. The reason I as is because if I'm doing the 1900 fat shredder diet it gives me more calories depending on how long the workout is and I was wondering if it was a good idea to record it?

Hey Todd, i really like this video of my fitness pal really helpful. I'm doing the 1900 calorie diet with the p90x program, i just started my first week of it. My question is that on the 1900 calorie diet what is a reasonable intake on daily sugar?

Hey Todd, I am about to begin week 5 of p90x and am currently in the 16% body fat range. Do I continue to stay in the fat shredder phase until I reach around 10% or should I move to the energy booster after the sixth week of the fat shredder phase? I have heard both sides, whats your take?

Hi Todd Appreciate all the good stuff on your site it is helping me get organized to start P90x. My question has to do with nutrition planning and my fitnesspal. I am using your 1900 calorie plan as a template but noticed you added custom categories, namely pre & Post Workout & Snack 1 & snack 2. Can you share with me how you added the categories, I'd like to set my plan up the same way. Thanks so much

Do you keep track of sugar at all? That dwindles pretty quick when you are trying to hit your carb ratio....especially with fat shredder. If I'm eating a banana or apple or something like that along with Shakeology I always go over on sugar.

Question, on the nutrition plan, they ask that you eat cottage cheese. Could I eat something else? I hate cottage cheese. Thank you

You have a great point there and it took me a while to figure it out somewhat. I actually have the my fitness pal and I love the break down and percentage ratios. And you are exactly right. What I have tended to do since the fat shredder phase is a 50/30/20 ratio I have planned on high protein products more(whey protein, egg whites, chicken breasts) as a basis of my meal since carbs aren't really In the type of foods. Thank you. I find myself checking the back of everything for the nutrition info now. Lol. It's a habit but the things you learn about some foods doing that. Day 5 of P90X and have not cheated one bit. Website is extremely helpful

Question. I notice how you go more into depth as far as grams of proteins and carbs. I am on level 2 of the fat shredder phase. I follow the portion approach and all it has the servings of the food categories I should have and a list of acceptable foods within those categories. Is there something else I should be looking at as well
