How To Lose Belly Fat – True Lies

I see a ton of fitness marketing “gurus” that tout that they have revealed the “secret” on how to lose belly fat fast…you’ve seen the advertisements; “six pack secrets”, “six pack shortcuts”, “six pack solutions”, “six pack secrets revealed”. And the list goes on and on and on and on. But every time I get the “insider look” that promises that I’ll look like Brad Pitt from Fight Club, I find that they are focusing on the wrong thing, and I am no closer to being Angelina Jolie’s babysitter…I cant figure out why either (why their focus is off…NOT why I’m not Angelina Jolie’s kid’s babysitter, lol).


Are They Telling The Truth? – How To Lose Belly Fat


These people are supposed to be professionals and it baffles me as to why they wouldn’t tell people the real truth about it. Wait…Im not saying that what they are teaching is a lie, and I’m not saying you wont get results by following their routines, but I cant understand why their focus wouldnt be on what gets THE BEST results. That’s why today its my turn to take a shot at how to lose belly fat, or at least show you where your focus should be. Most of you are not going to like my answer.

If you go to any of these six pack sites that blast your belly fat in 15 minutes a day or less, then you’ll notice they all have something in common. They all talk about this thing called the afterburn effect. And while this concept is legit, it is not the solution to get a six pack or working off that last bit of belly fat that is clinging to your waistline like a 3 years old meeting Donald Duck for the first time at Disneyland.

The “afterburn” concept is the idea that you can exercise in less time and continue the calorie burning process up to 48 hours after you’ve completed your workout. This is also known as HIIT or High Intensity Interval Training. You see this type of training in programs like Insanity, Insanity: The Asylum and TurboFire.

While HIIT training is an awesome solution to burn a lot of calories at once and for an extended period of time after your workout, it still is not the solution to lose belly fat. Especially that last bit of belly fat.


So What Is The Secret Solution? – How To Lose Belly Fat


I think most of you can guess what the actual solution to getting rid of that stubborn belly fat is, and the reason people don’t like the answer is because it’s the hardest thing to do…Nutrition!

No amount of focus on ab-ducting exercises will get rid of that last bit of belly fat. The ONLY solution is to eat with precision! You can’t JUST eat healthy. You have to track, monitor and adjust your protein, carbs, and fat intake to optimize your results.

I’m not going to go into detail on what your nutrition needs to look like in order to lose stubborn belly fat because I’ve provided many resources like the Nutrition Zone on this website that focus on just that, but I do want to be very clear and I want the members of MY team to understand, that you will get to that point where you have just a half inch of fat around your waist that lingers…You want it gone??? Get precise with what’s goin down the hatch!

And just real quick, lets debunk the myth that you can target belly fat. You cant! Your body will lose fat where it wants to lose fat and it just so happens that the belly is usually the last place to go. I love what my good friend Jon Bosch had to say on Facebook about this topic, “There is no way to spot reduce fat! When you get lean you get a sixer… Period.” Could not have said it better…

Hi Todd, I recently came across a video of yours on YouTube and it lead me here, to your website. I've been on your site for a few minutes, poking around, and I must say... I'm impressed! You seem to be honest, real and dedicated to help people like me! That leads me to my question for you. I need you opinion... I'm a male, 6' tall and weigh 155 lbs. Tall and skinny right? Not quite! I AM tall and skinny, but I have the dreaded "beer-belly". I'm curious to know what you recommend that I do to build muscle WHILE loosing my belly. The whole nutrition thing confuses me. I need to lose fat, but my arms are the size of broom handles and my thighs are as big around as your wrist!!! I don't want to diet to lose weight that I need! What do I do as far as calorie intake? What do I do as far as overall eating? What do I do as far as cardio? If you happen to live anywhere in the Metro Detroit Michigan area I'd pay you large to be my personal trainer!!!!!!! Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!! Oh, and I have both Insanity and P90X and I'm hesitant on trying Insanity because of the amount of cardio. Thank you!! Mike
